Com4, a leading provider of IoT connectivity solutions and part of the Wireless Logic Group, in collaboration with Kigen, a global leader in SIM, eSIM, and iSIM technologies, have unveiled an iSIM Evaluation Kit (EVK) based on a Quectel module. This technology is set to redefine IoT development, offering unparalleled advantages in security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

The iSIM Evaluation Kit empowers enterprises and developers to explore and test the transformative advantages iSIM brings to smart cities, industrial IoT, fleet management, EV charging, and connected automotive sectors.

The iSIM Evaluation Kit empowers enterprises to seamlessly integrate SIM capabilities into the device’s modem using Quectel’s ultra-compact modules. By integrating SIM capabilities into the System on Chip (SoC), the kit eliminates traditional SIM cards, streamlines supply chains, and reduces power consumption. These innovations of the iSIM technology and the combination of trusted partners make it an ideal solution for compact IoT designs and large-scale deployments.

Streamlined Path to Volume Production with Kigen and Quectel

The iSIM Evaluation Kit, powered by the ultra-compact Quectel BG773A module and Sony’s Altair ALT1250 chipset, using Kigen’s iSIM OS offers significant advantages for IoT deployments. It supports smaller device designs, optimized power consumption, robust security via a secure element, and reduced manufacturing costs. With pre-provisioned Com4 iSIM profiles via Kigen’s iSIM secure packages, it also provides seamless, out-of-the-box global connectivity optimized for LPWA networks.

“Com4 is thrilled to introduce this iSIM technology alongside Kigen. Our iSIM Evaluation Kit, and enables ultimate secure foundations for instantly connected devices and removing the hardware constraints of traditional and soldered SIM cards,” says Stein Andre Larner, CEO of Com4. “This solution offers a practical and scalable approach, empowering developers to bring efficient, highly adaptable IoT products to market.“

“By taking Kigen’s iSIM secure package on Quectel’s modules, Com4 reinforces itself as the trusted connectivity partner for a streamlined path to volume production,” says Vincent Korstanje, CEO of Kigen. “This collaboration empowers developers and enterprises with the tools to deliver future-ready IoT solutions tailored for global connectivity and robust security.”

Designed for applications including smart metering, tracking, and wearables, the Com4 Connectivity Management Platform provides a comprehensive environment for developers to evaluate and deploy iSIM technology with ease.

Key Advantages for High-Impact IoT Applications

The iSIM Evaluation Kit delivers a standards-based approach with tamper-resistant iSIM, making it fit for critical infrastructure that is undergoing rapid digitalization:

  • Smarter Cities: Secure, low-power connectivity for public infrastructure and energy-efficient urban systems.
  • Industrial IoT Efficiency: Robust device management in complex environments.
  • Fleet and EV Charging Optimization: Real-time tracking and cost-effective operations.
  • Connected Automotive Solutions: Enhanced vehicle communication and safety features.

Com4’s Connectivity Management Platform complements the kit, enabling seamless evaluation and deployment of iSIM-based devices.
