Libelium and Urbim announce their collaboration agreement to integrate Libelium's sensors into Urbim's digital twins platform. This alliance will enable cities and companies to monitor and analyse key aspects of their urban environment for informed decision-making and resource optimisation. The first step of this collaboration is the inclusion of Smart Parking data.
Libelium, a leading company in IoT solutions, and Urbim, a company specialising in managing 3D data based on BIM models, announce their collaboration agreement to integrate Libelium's sensors into Urbim's digital twins platform. The combination of Libelium's technology and Urbim's urban visualisation platform will provide cities with a powerful tool so that cities and companies can monitor and analyse different key aspects of their environment.
The integration of Libelium's Smart Parking data into Urbim's platform offers a valuable tool for urban managers and city planners. Now, with an accurate visual representation of the city, it is possible to know in real-time the availability of parking spaces through a 3D viewer of their urban environment, optimise space management, and offer more efficient services to citizens. The data are integrated using Fiware to translate and contextualise the information. By using Fiware as a standard, uncertainty is reduced, and interoperability between both technologies is improved.
"At Libelium, we are clear that if we want to move faster towards greener and more efficient urban environments, we must collaborate with the best," commented. This first step in integrating our solutions into Urbim's platform allows us to undertake much more complex and ambitious projects."
Antonio Jara, CSO of Libelium
"Making digital twins accessible to any user is what we are working towards. Connecting to Libelium allows us to turn those digital models into digital twins with real-time data, so our users can benefit from what new technologies can bring them. AI, data analysis, predictions and alerts, maintenance, VR and AR…Urbim will generate value around all these connections in a simple and agile way."
MarÃa Pascual, Managing Director of Urbim
This initial data incorporation to Urbim will be followed by more offerings from Libelium, such as air quality measurement, water management, environmental parameters, or noise levels in use cases such as connected cities, construction, tourism, or smart buildings.
This agreement marks a significant milestone in the integration of technological solutions for the development of smart cities. Both companies are committed to promoting innovation and sustainability in the urban environment, and this collaboration is an important step towards that goal.
