Rigado and NXP® Semiconductors are bringing a flexible, efficient and secure connectivity solution to Embedded World 2019 that ensures commercial IoT deployments — powered by Rigado’s Cascade IoT Gateways — keep devices and data secure, all the way to the cloud.
Rigado’s Cascade IoT Gateway — an integrated solution for edge connectivity, computing and security — comes equipped with NXP’s A71CH Security IC, which allows for flexible and secure connections to a range of cloud services, including Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure, without writing security code or exposing keys. A demonstration of how this integration works in practice will be on display at the NXP Semiconductors booth at Embedded World 2019 (booth #4A-220).
“Secure key management and device provisioning are critical to IoT security, especially in large-scale Commercial IoT deployments,” said Justin Rigling, CTO at Rigado. “Our integration of the A71CH ‘Plug & Trust’ solution allows us to remove the cost of ownership and complexity of credential provisioning of gateways with unique TLS certificates – something that previously required the manual registration of each individual gateway onto the cloud service.”
The Cascade gateway is designed to reduce the complexity, risk and cost of large-scale commercial IoT deployments through a simple monthly subscription that delivers key wireless connectivity, an edge computing platform and managed security updates. NXP provides trust in Rigado’s products and services for commercial customers seeking a reliable IoT infrastructure to realize their digital transformation.
The A71CH solution delivers an increased level of security through a robust, hardware-based key update and management solution.
“We provide a ready-to-use security solution, that enables secure connections of next-generation IoT devices solving scalability and complexity issues commonly associated with securing and managing edge nodes and gateways.,” said Philippe Dubois, vice president and general manager of IoT security at NXP Semiconductors. “Our collaboration with Rigado means end users have a simple yet confident solution to thwart both logical and physical attacks. We’re helping Rigado to provide the device-to-cloud chain of security necessary in today’s commercial IoT space.”
The A71CH solution means Rigado’s Cascade IoT Gateway comes equipped with the intelligent handling of secure connection protocols, digital signatures, digital certificates and asymmetric cryptography algorithms to generate private and public keys. Further, Rigado’s Edge Direct monitoring tools make it easy to manage gateways and apply evergreen security updates at scale.
The result is secure yet flexible storage of credentials, device authentication, secure code execution, and safe connections to remote servers – no matter the size of a deployment.
