MatchX successfully secures two patents, ensuring quick, contactless security and patch updates for IoT sensors. This discovery ensures vast savings, potentially ranging in the tens of millions of dollars per year for IoT companies.

These patents, subsequently covering both the US and European markets (with China pending) simplifies a sophisticated firmware update by configuring a low data-rate ratio frequency (RF) module across all high frequency RF bands including NB-IoT, LoRA, LPWAN, and Sigfox. The patent itself is being hailed as a significant breakthrough in contactless IoT sensor update technology.

MatchX, the Berlin-based IoT and LoRaWan authority delivers a wide range of long-distance data solutions across a number of Smart Cities, Smart Farming and Smart Living applications, as well as B2B and B2C customers. With this latest breakthrough, MatchX believes they’ve secured a potentially lucrative patent, allowing their partners to save a significant amount of time updating sensors.

“This patent is something we’ve been working on for quite some time now,” said MatchX Co-Founder Hu Xin. “We’re very proud to be granted this patent, ensuring that sensor owners can update their sensors without the need to disassemble them, attach them to a cable and wait to update them. With this patent, we ensure a new form of easy use updates that can save time, money and effort in order to make critical updates of IoT data sensors.”

In addition to securing the global trademark for the widely used term “LPWAN” Low Power Wide Area Network, the MatchX team is determined to continue inventing and reinventing various aspects of the IoT market. The team is also looking to reveal a number of new patents early in 2020.

“MatchX has grown from a small Berlin start-up with just three employees to a global brand with offices stretching from Berlin, Seoul, Shanghai to Singapore,” said MatchX Co-Founder Aaron Wagener. “Since our early inception, we were convinced that if we believed in something strongly enough, we too can make a global impact.”

The LPWAN company MatchX, boasts a wide variety of customers in over 60 countries worldwide. Much of the success of this broad global appeal comes from the companies' dedication to technology, quality and focusing on delivering the next customer demand. The company is currently focusing on a wide variety of Edge Fusion sensors which encompass both LPWAN and Ai technology whilst respecting individual privacy.

MatchX recently began delivering its primary product, the “MatchX Gateway” to the government in Shanghai, Yang-Pu district, where they’ll be supporting the government to ensure increased standards of living, monitoring air quality and water quality. A market that MatchX believes will be a boom sector in the coming decade.

 About MatchX GmbH

MatchX provides a revolutionary breakthrough to the IoT industry and the world's data needs, an end-to-end network solution that ensures increased data efficiency whilst reducing energy consumption and significantly reducing costs. MatchX hardware operates on LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network) technology, which can connect sensors over long distances while offering optimal battery life and requiring minimal infrastructure.

 About LoRaWAN

The LoRaWAN® standard is a Low Power Wide Area Networking (LPWAN) protocol designed to wirelessly connect battery operated 'things' to the internet in regional, national or global networks to deliver actionable data and improve efficiencies. It targets key Internet of Things (IoT) requirements such as bi-directional communication, end-to-end security, mobility and localization services.

About SigFox

Sigfox is a centralised French global network operator founded in 2009 that builds wireless networks to connect low-power objects such as electricity meters and smartwatches, which need to be continuously on and emitting small amounts of data.

About NB-IoT

Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) is a Low Power Wide Area Network radio technology standard developed by 3GPP to enable a wide range of cellular devices and services.
