In practical terms, this means that a much smaller volume of water can achieve the same cooling effect as a much larger volume of air, making liquid cooling a more space-efficient and energy-efficient solution for managing the increasing heat loads of modern data centers. Data centers pre-designed with chilled water systems will become more common in the years ahead.

With rising AI workloads, affordable energy options are crucial. Data centers are increasingly located near natural resources, such as hydropower and geothermal energy sources, to create more sustainable efficiencies and reduce the overall cost of operations. 

Providers must cater to diverse cooling preferences, offering a mix of liquid and air-cooled solutions to accommodate varying workloads.
